Saving Memories: Video Conversion By Pixorial

I received a package in the mail a few days ago containing the most exciting empty, plain, white box I’ve ever had the fortune of being mailed to me.

Sounds strange {and silly} I know, but it’s true.

The empty, plain, white box is the box in which I am going to send my old VHS  family videos to Pixorial to have converted to DVD.

A few years ago {well, maybe more than a few.  It was back in the days when everyone had a VHS machine} my dad gave me a VHS tape for Christmas.  It contained years worth of footage from my early childhood that he’d had converted from 8 mm to VHS.  It was one of the best presents ever because in a way, it gave me back my childhood, and allowed me to share it with my oldest children.   They got to see me in motion when I was their age, and I got to see my parents back when they were young.

Since we haven’t had a VHS player for years now, that VHS tape became virtually useless to me, and it’s been weighing on my mind for some time.

That plain white box is going to alleviate that nagging, must-do guilt that has been plaguing me about getting the video converted.

Just as soon as I find it.

I’ve taken the first step, I just need to take the second (in finding the tape), and Pixorial will take the third step for me by converting and then sending back my old footage.

Exciting Stuff.  I’ll even share some of it with you!

I have the pleasure of being a community leader over in BlogFrog’s Memories in Motion Community again this month, and really, really want you to join me there.  And psst….I’m in the company of some other fabulous bloggers in including, Tiffany, Fran, Kat: TheSitsGirls.com, Cindy Hopper from Skip To My Lou, Amy of The Idea Room, extraordinarymommy.com, jennyonthespot.com, Michelle of everydaycelebrating.com, Jen of Buriedwithchildren.com, and my Wordful Wednesday Co-Host, Amanda from ParentingbyDummies.com.

  1. I have some old VHS home made videos lying around here somewhere. I’m sorta kinda maybe interested in having them converted, but I’m scared. I mean, what if I send in the video of me singing my American Idol faux audition? The horror! The shame! I don’t want the Pixorial video conversion specialist to be subjected to that. Or some other stuff.

It must be a pretty fun place to work though. Imagine the videos they see!

  2. That is so awesome. I bet you can’t wait to be able to see all those movies again. 🙂

And we are going to have so much fun in this community. 🙂

  3. How cool!

  4. Oh how cool!
ALL of my videos of my oldest kids are on VHS. UGH
I soooo need to convert them before I accidntally destroy them. (as I’;m likely to do. LOL)

  5. I have SO many. Yet, I’ve still got a regularly used VHS player, too 🙂

    I love your community!!

  6. Oh! Oh! Oh!

We (my siblings and I) converted old super 8 black and white with NO sound home movies to DVD for our parents for Christmas. They were blown away and we had so much fun watching all the old movies!
