Paint chip crafts are my latest greatest craze (next to sugar scrubs) and I’m not alone. Using paint chip samples in crafty and unique ways instead of just throwing them away are a great way to make use of the gorgeous array of colors that paint companies put together on swatches of paper to help us choose just the right shade of color for our projects! Embellishing gift bags and wrap is a great way to repurpose paint chips. Here’s how:
How to Embellish Gift Bags or Wrap:
Embellishing gift bags or wrap is really simple. You just need your left over paint chips, your gift bag or wrap to be embellished and a few items that you have around the house like ribbon or twine and scissors, glue or stapler. I also used a circle punch and a paper crimper to give some of the circles texture. I like to call this my “throw everything together and make it work” craft.
I made two bags. And as you can see, they are both different, but both used paint chips punched into circles and they embellished my bags in a fun and original way. For FREE. Gotta love that!
Paint chip samples are fabulous because:
- you don’t have to worry about mixing the wrong shades-paint companies have thoughtfully paired complimenting shades!
- the card stock they print their colors on is always nice and hefty
- the colors are always, always nice
- they are free! {I’m not advocating you go out and just take them though! I do a lot of painting so I come by them naturally}
