My kids love movies. Let me say that again. They love movies. Like really love them. During the summer, they have the opportunity to watch even MORE movies than usual which puts them into a state of movie euphoria.
Luckily, there are plenty of good movies out there that they can watch without being corrupted, and Redbox sent me a list that they worked their way through with reckless abandon. {wink}
Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer
One of their favorite movies of the summer was Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. I think that part of the appeal is that they saw a few scenes of the movie filmed and got to meet the actress who played Judy Moody, her little brother “Stink”, and Megan McDonald, the author of the Judy Moody books, but they also liked the movie because it’s just plain fun.
Reasons You Should See Judy Moody
- The movie is based on the books by Megan McDonald so if your kids are Judy Moody book fans, they’ll love the movie.
- Even if they’ve never read the books, they’ll love the movie.
- The movie is funny.
- The movie has adventure and suspense and a cute ending that will leave you smiling.
- The characters are super likable.
- It’s a great summer movie {as evidenced by the title}.
