Greatest Accomplishment?

A few weeks ago I entered a “write-away” contest that was judged by Kailani at An Island Life. I stopped by her blog today and loved her Friday Feature. It’s called Aloha Friday and bloggers link together through her site and create a question for their blog in response to her prompt.

My question is:
What is your greatest accomplishment of 2007?

I honestly don’t have an answer to this one. I have to think about it and then post later. Although perhaps not having a clear cut answer is my brains way of telling me that all the little things add up to something substantial, and that’s my greatest accomplishment. Having a year of great moments. Of little day to day occurrences that define 2007 as a truly remarkable year in a very unremarkable way. I’d love to hear your answers, and if you’d like to play along, visit An Island Life to see this week’s Aloha Friday posts.

  1. 2007 was a pretty unspectacular year in my life. I’m hoping that 2008 will have a little more to offer.

Sometimes the greatest accomplishment in a year is just managing to live through it, so see, I just came up with an acomplishment for 2007 🙂

  2. Yeah, I think you guys are on to something! It’s the quiet victories of everyday that add up to something pretty spectacular………

  3. I do think its the quiet victories that add up to great things! For me I set a goal to loose weight and work out. I have never ever worked out my whole life and had no idea what to do. I went from that to working out five days a week. I have lost 38 pounds and went down from a size 14 to a size 8. Since I have never been a exerciser and I still don’t love actually doing it (just being done)I feel it has been a great acomplishment, a life change. I feel proud and happy to have made it to this point, and believe I will continue it forever. My health, my children’s health (through example) will forever be improved. I am glad to loose weight but I am even more glad to feel better. I keep planning a post about this on my blog…

i quit my job in early 2007 to concentrate on family. although this is my decision, i feel like this was a big sacrifice on my part since i am used to working and the money was great. however, the rewards of getting through everyday being a hands-on stay-at-home mother feels great. it almost feels like a great accomplishment.

  5. Having my little girl, Yuki Mei, was my greatest achievement of this year. Next year is going to be loosing the weight. 2008 is going to be my year.

  6. Christine@AreWeThereYetMom says

One of the things I wanted to learn was to sew, and I actually finished an Amy Butler Swingbag.

  7. You know I like this answer. Very well said. Can I poach it LOL?

  8. Having my twins was my greatest accomplishment this year. Not that I had that much to do with it. They were kind of in charge there. But they did set off a whole chain reaction of events that made 2007 a great year and 2008 a potentially awesome year. I agree with Milz…I think 2008 is going to be my year. Its going to be great.

  9. I know this is going to sound really stupid but my greatest accomplishment for 2007 was getting out of bed and leaving the house. After being involved with a terrorist bombing on December 30 of 2006 (
in which my husband was injured, I had no desire to get out of bed let alone leave the house.

  10. Pinkjagxg, that totally isn’t stupid!

  11. It took me a minute until I looked to the right and saw my greatest accomplishment of 07. Andrea! not to mention my 3 other accomplishments that are healthy and thriving. 🙂

  12. Well, I moved across the country and I started a blog. Nothing earth shaking, but a very eventful year.

  13. Casey's trio says

My greatest accomplishment of 2007? That I survived it and so did my 3 two-year-olds!

  14. 2007 marked the beginning of kindergarten for my older daughter. Getting through that without sheding tears was a big accomplishment for me!

    Mahalo for participating!
