Now that we are heading back to school, it’s time to start thinking after school snacks. My kiddos come home starving, and especially during the first week of school, I’ve decided to up my game and plan some fun snacks served in exciting ways that they’ll look forward too. Hey, it’s hard heading back to school after a summer spent swimming and hanging around. {smiling}

Preparing After School Snack
My kids like their snacks best if they get to help prepare them like they like ’em, so using plain cheese Bagel Bites and letting them pick their own toppings is a great way to let them customize their after school snacks. Every party needs pizza, right? As a note, it’s nice to know that Bagel Bites are made with real cheese and homemade sauce with 0g of trans fat. If your kiddos add some protein and veggies to their Bagel Bites they’ve made themselves a pretty balanced snack. {big smile} Pop them in the microwave and they are ready in just over 2 minutes!
Topping Ideas
- Pepperoni
- Canadian Bacon / ham
- Pineapple
- olives
- bell pepper
- tomatoes
If your kids are like mine, they’ll probably need a sweet treat that is easy to eat before they get going on their homework. We love the apple taquitos by Delimex. Add a squirt or dollop of whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and you have a quick and yummy apple dessert that your kids will love. There’s no excuse for not doing homework after a treat like that. The best part is that it only takes a minute.
Here’s coupons for both the Bagel Bites and the Delimex, so that you can plan an after school party of your own and save money while doing it! {{score}} You can also find more great and super creative Bagel Bites Recipes here!
