All you need is a pair of shoes, some Mod Podge, a sponge applicator, glitter, and fast dry clear polyurethane spray.
Supplies Needed for Making DIY Glitter Shoes:
- Glitter
- Shoes {we got this pair from a thrift store for $4.95}
- Sponge applicator {Michaels, under $1}
- Masking, or blue painters tape
- Mod Podge
- Fast dry clear polyurethane spray
Directions for Making DIY Glitter Shoes:
Step 1: Using masking, or blue painters tape, tape off bottom and heel of shoe, or any area you don’t want glitter.
Step 2: Pour a little bit of Mod Podge into a small container and mix in 1 scoop of glitter to make a paste.
Step 3: Using sponge applicator, paint approximately 2″x2″ square area of shoe with Mod Podge. Then scoop loose glitter over the Mod Podge and shake off. Reapply glitter if necessary. Repeat process over entire shoe to be “glitterized”.
Step 4: Let shoe dry completely. Spray with fast dry clear polyurethane spray. This will set the glitter so that it doesn’t fall off everywhere.
Step 5: Have FUN with the SHOES!
