Wordful Wednesday – Camping & Riding in the Mountains Near Manti, Utah

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

It’s been a month now since we returned from camping in Utah and I’m still getting around to posting pictures of our trip.  We had such an enjoyable time and camped in such a beautiful area.  It’s always nice to get out of the city and enjoy some nice clean air and actually see stars!  For the past few years we’ve met my family there for a reunion or sorts and spend a few days camping together up Manti canyon.  It’s a wonderful place to camp because it’s like having a mountain all to ourselves.  We always have plenty to do and lucky for us, always 4 wheelers and razors to play on.  {thanks, dad!}

{It’s pretty common to see cows walking around on the roads and trails.}

{Mud Flats-so named because when it rains it becomes muddy}

{Butterflies landed on us all the time!}

{going on a ride}

{my dad}

{Jeff and the girls having fun}

{taking a break}

{leaving our mark-it’s a tradition.  In a few years we’ll come back and find our name carved in the tree}

{Uncle Augie teaches Grace to shoot for the first time.}

{The boys watch in fascination.}

{The Kid Crew}

  1. I loved seeing this on Instagram..even told my hubby we should go to Utah in the summer..the only problem is the million hour car drive to get there!

    Looks like you guys camp in style.

  2. Oh we love to camp! (Even if it’s only a tent in the backyard.)

  3. Seriously Angie, you’re killing me. All these amazing family adventures. Are you sure you don’t need a travel nanny?

  4. My Dad has a Razr and he loves it. He and my mom have been on quite the adventures! It looks like you guys had a great time. Lovely scenery!

    We just started school today. Isn’t that crazy?

  5. Is it so horrible for me to admit that I’ve only been camping once and that was enough for me? LOL! I love going out on nature hikes, being one with nature and all, but at the end of the day, I want to go to a real bed with a real shower. I’m prissy like that – gack!

  6. That looks like SO much FUN! Growing up our family always camped every summer – a week or two in the Mountains or a week or two at the ocean (sometimes it would be split – 1-1/2 weeks in the mountains immediately followed by 1-1/2 weeks at the ocean). It was easy to do growing up in Washington State! 🙂 Can’t wait to get back there – the camping in PA lacks greatly. 😉

  7. Looks and sounds like you guys had an amazing time. What a pretty place!

  8. Gorgeous part of the country!!!! What a great time. I know my family would love that.

  9. What a great day! AND You have such a beautiful family Angie!!

  10. Wow, that looks fun and such a beautiful place – a winning combination for sure.

    We haven’t camped with the kids yet but I would like to someday…

  11. I’ve never been camping. Not once. I have a mild interest, but it’s more like…meh. Bugs, outside sleeping? Meh again. I have, however, hinted that I wouldn’t necessarily mind doing a mock camping trip in the backyard. I should forewarn the raccoons.

    Your pictures, as usual, are spectacular. Your children will be so happy to have had these experiences, Angie, let alone to have them documented so well.

  12. Looks like fun, we love camping! We go every year. 🙂

  13. off course a post wouldn’t be enough for pictures you took in a camping!
    one day I hope I will have a chance to bring my children go camping…

  14. I have never been camping. Or to Utah. Isn’t that pathetic?

  15. We go camping a few times each summer but nothing like that! That looks exactly like what my husband would love to do!!

  16. That first shot is beautiful! What a wonderful place to explore.
