Wordful Wednesday – Back to School 2012

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

My kiddos went back to school today {although by the time this posts it will be last week}.  I was actually really sad to see them go.  We had such a nice relaxing summer that I wasn’t quite ready for the scheduling to start again so soon, plus, I really do enjoy having my kids around.  🙂  And, I’m absolutely in denial that my oldest is in Junior high and my babies are in second grade.

{Johnny was so excited to start 2nd grade and he and Jacob lucked out with one of the best teachers around!}

{Jakey ready to head to 2nd grade….}

 {Garrett got a fabulously athletic teacher.  I think he’s going to have a great year!}

{Emma didn’t get any of her closest friends her 5th grade class, but I’m predicting a really good year, anyway!}

{And Grace, what can I say?  I think she’s going to do fabulously in Junior High.   A brighter light is hard to come by!}

How are your kids liking their time back at school so far?

  1. This post makes me realize how long we’ve been blogging! Angie, what happened to your babies?

  2. I’m having a little trouble believing that your “babies” are in 2nd grade myself! Seriously.

    Great photos! Hope everyone has a wonderful year! 🙂

  3. I know I am supposed to like having them is school but really I just miss them. Especially my oldest. I feel like he’s never home! 🙁

  4. They are DARLING!! This year I didn’t do anything special when they went back to school. It came too soon and I wasn’t prepared. We go year round so while your are just starting…mine will be out in a couple weeks for fall break.

  5. *sigh* It’s just going by too fast. Too fast. My son starts school next year and I’m already crying about it, already missing him! Ugh. Is there an option for mom’s to sit in class, too? I can be really quiet…?

  6. Oh my kids LOVE school! They couldn’t wait to get back. They are happy little people now.

  7. Love the signs. Sounds like they’re off to a great year. Great job capturing their first day, mom! Happy WW!

  8. Why must time fly by so stinkin’ fast?! 🙂 Your kids are GORGEOUS – and ACK! 7th grade already for your oldest? I’m having trouble enough grasping the idea that this year is Princess Nagger’s last year in Elementary School – I better not blink. 😉

  9. I think I might be a little sad when my baby is in 2nd grade too! Your family is beautiful.

  10. My kids started yesterday. I was a bit sad to see my baby start kindergarten this year. 🙁

    Your kids are just adorable!! My son didn’t get any of his closest friends in his class this year either (he is in 6th).

  11. Fab pics, and a great portrait idea :). Hope they all have a fantastic year!

  12. Aww, so bittersweet!

  13. It really does go by too quickly. It’s hard isn’t it?! At least they look like they are really looking forward to it.

  14. I am happy that my kids have gone back to school. It’s been a really long 3 months!

    What got me was when I had to take my 8th grader to the high school yesterday for her last class of the day! What happened to my baby?!?!

  15. Well, they all LOOK like they are happy and excited to go! Cuuuute signs.
    Am I the only Mom who couldn’t wait for school to start? LOL. THey are all home sick today and I’m looking FORWARD to my gyno appt. just to get out of the house!

  16. Your kids are beautiful man.
    I remember hearing about Brooke helping you out with the twins and wondering how you were and here they are in second grade.
    Masaru’s in second grade this year as well.
    It just dawned on me now they must be around the same age LOL

  17. OMGosh, they all look SO grown up – especially Grace! Hope they have a wonderful year.

  18. Mine are in 7th, 4th, and pre-k3 (just leave that last one alone, ‘kay?). My oldest is not really enjoying this year. There have been many changes and she just feels imprisoned. While I understand a lot of the reasons behind the changes, I can’t help feeling they are excessive and punishing those who were focused and not troublemakers. I’m hoping it gets better as things get into a routine/rhythm.

    Have you exhaled into the quiet of the house yet?

  19. Oh my goodness! They are all getting so big! I hope they all have a wonderful year. 🙂

  20. It sounds like they all got wonderful teachers this year.

  21. Hooray for back to school!

    Sorry I am late to the party AGAIN this week. But I just got back from San Francisco and had SO many pictures to look through. Come check out my vacation!

  22. They are all so adorable. The first day of school was always exciting, though my husband would heartily disagree!

  23. You have such gorgeous kids! And are your twins a few inches apart or is it just how they are standing. My two triplets are a good 2-3 inches apart now and the shorter one is dying to be as tall as his sister.

  24. so glad they got good teachers! they are all so cute… and wow, where has the time gone with them growing?!
