Wordful Wednesday-Girl’s Room Bulletin Board

by Angie on May 24, 2011

Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, only WITH words. It’s for those of us that can’t contain the chatter, but in a good way. More info. in my tabber box titled WW on the right. Thank you for playing along!

Every once in a while I find a really great craft idea that I have the ability to replicate, and by replicate, I mean copy.  Doesn’t replicate sound so much less criminal?  :)  I guess what I’m really trying to say here is that occasionally I find a craft that I have the ability to copy.  And I do.  Like this one:

I found an old frame a friend had picked up at a thrift store and covered the back with padding and a yard of fabric I picked up at the craft store.  I adhered it with a hot glue, slipped it back in the frame, and voila, a ready made bulletin board.  The girls and I wanted to make it look a little more feminine so we made paper flowers as well.  Such an easy project and the girls love having a place to hang their pictures and important papers.

Do you have any easy craft ideas that I should know about?  If so, please leave me the link so I can check them out!

And, I can’t wait for next week.  I’m going to show you what my husband can do when he decides it’s time for a pirate theme!

Don’t forget to hop on over to my co-host  Amanda’s place to see what she has to be Wordful about today!

Super cute! I like how it turned out. Nice work :) I’ve been crafting up a storm for Charlie’s birthday party. It just might be the death of me ;)

I am pretty UN-crafty…you lost me at hot glue ;) But I really like your project!

Not only does it sound less criminal, but ‘replicate’ sounds very flattering to the original crafter. I LOVE this idea, and it sounds like something even I can do! My girls would love it.

How cute and it sounds so easy. I may have to try something similar for my kids’ rooms!

Great idea – thanks for the suggestion. I’ll give this one a whirl.

Love, love love the craftiness! I can’t craft that great, but it is my goal to one day create something so cool I plaster my project all over every single craft link-up. Until then, I’m just dreaming!

I like that idea. I might have to replicate it.

such a cool idea, and i love the flowers too!

That is so clever! Me and crafts just don’t mix, but this sounds simple enough. Maybe you could do a step-by-step demonstration. The flowers were a nice touch too.

I love pirates! Can’t wait to see what your hubby is up to! :-)

Very nice replica, I hope you don’t mind me ‘stealing’ the idea? ;-) No, not for my boy, he’s a tiny little bit to young, but for myself.

I might have to copy… err, I mean replicate that myself! I have an empty frame with cracked glass that would be perfect for up-cycling into a bulletin board for my girls. Great idea!

I love, love, love this idea! I am a big fan of “replicating” too :) There are a few craft ideas over on my blog and a tutorial for making fabric origami paper – check it out if you have a chance.

I LOVE how it turned out – especially with the added touch of the paper flowers. I’m going to have to copy…I mean replicate…that myself! ;)

I love when you can reuse items others will throw away. I am trying to look at every piece of “junk” and ask myself, “Is there any way I can repurpose that?”

24 Ashley Sisk May 25, 2011 at 5:29 am

I used to do that all the time – but that might have been in college. I should bring out the board again. One of my favorite crafty ideas is this one: http://lemontreecreations.blogspot.com/2010/08/long-necklace-holder.html

I’ve seen a few other variations and I still haven’t created my own, but I love the idea. Happy Wednesday!

I love it! I have a cork board I’m trying to figure out what to do with. I wonder if I can take the back off and give it new life.

How cute! I’ve seen similar things where you criss-cross ribbon over the front. You use the ribbon to hold pictures.

That is very cute!

I loved having a bulletin board when I was a tween/teen. I still remember how I crammed pics of my friends on every square inch of space and then some. :)

Super cute Angie!

Cute and (most importantly) simple! As soon as too many glue guns get involved, I have to bow out :)

Hey, I believe that no art is original. It all comes from somewhere. Inspiration is everywhere and does not take away from the “artistry” of it. I love your idea!
