I just recently started experimenting with what I’m sure a ton of you do already.
Scrapbooking online.
It’s opened up a new world for me. I’m really digging being able to put my photos into a format that is easy to manipulate and that I can then have printed and bound into an album.
I’ve always been really great about copying other peoples ideas and making them my own in traditional albums, but doing so that way is time consuming, takes up a ton of work space, and frankly, is a bit frustrating for me. With online scrapbooking all I need is my computer, a little brain power and the use of my fingers on the keyboard.
I’ve been using the Memory Mixer software to make my 2009 family album, and it’s been unbelievably easy. It’s so easy in fact, that Grace (daughter number 1) has been helping me so it’ll be a collaborative effort. We are very nearly done, and once we are I’m going to have it bound by Memory Mixers in an 8X11.5 hardbound album.
Want a sneak peak?

At first I tried this whimsical layout/format, and really love it, but then decided to make my album a bit more streamlined and traditional.
Like this:
Of course, there are many more layouts (each book comes with 26 pages included in the price with additional pages at a nominal price), this is just a sampling.
You can find Memory Mixer on Facebook and Twitter. For extra free and fun inspiration, you’ll want to visit The Little Things blog by Memory Mixer. There are tons of great ideas on the blog, plus they have Freebie Graphics on Wednesday’s and Giveaways on Fridays.
Memory Mixer is generously giving to one of my readers their Digital Graphic Software (it’s the same as I’ve been using) and a hardbound 8X11.5 bound album with a retail value combined at over $75.00

I like best that there are 30 predesigned albums because I am not the least bit artistically inclined.
i like all the different formats you can make.
You did an awesome job. Again, I wish I could just sit myself down and do that!
Lady, where do you find the time?!!! I’m still not finished w/V’s first year album, haven’t even begun to organize for the twins, and also have not developed photos for….um 1+ years…MAYBE digital scrapbooking is for me too!
I love all of the background/predesigned layouts, and the fact that books are under $10! Have you seen the quality of the printing yet? Just curious.
When I do bust out the scrapbooking materials my only secret is to “scrap-lift” b/c I don’t have the artistic mind for it! I have one of the scrapbooking magazines which is just full of ideas every month.
I love Memory Mixer. I’ve used it before. It’s so easy and I didn’t scrap book before. I want to do more. Pick me.
My hand will stay raised until you do.
I like that you have so many layouts to choose from. This is a great idea and what a time saver!
I LOVE Memory Mixer! I’ve did traditional paper scrapping, but wasn’t always able to find/make what embellishments, etc., my minds eye saw for a particular layout. With MMv3, I not only have the ability to scrap with Quick Mixes, but I can also start from scratch and play to my hearts content. When I’m finished, or falling asleep, all I need to do is shut down the computer…no huge mess to put away, and no storage of supplies issues either!
So can I print out individual pages and get them shipped?
And how much are those?
How much is the CD?
I’VE BEEN SEARCHING forever for something I like and can’t find it.
If it’s good I’ll purchase it for sure.
But I just need to know what I”m getting into.
I don’t want a book printed.
Just pages.
Here’s a link to the Memory Mixer store where you can purchase the software:Memory Mixer store.
They no longer print individual pages, but you can get them printed at Costco online relatively inexpensively.
I’ve used the software since inception, have tried a couple of others, and use MM exclusively. I LOVE IT!
I have found also the it has become easier do get it done online now, I love to scrapbook but unfortunately have fallen behind.
I already follow you in my reader
dropped by their blog and told them you had sent me:)
dropped in on their site and love love that they have a gallery that you can browse thru I am alot like you and love to get inspiration from those who are more artistic than I am. now off to go look some more into the gallery
I am following them on twitter
no real secrets to give only big thing for me was trying to stay organized with all my stuff. I have a great bag that I keep everything in and have it all separated by items. also when I got pics developed I tried to go thru them and get out the ones I knew I would put it my book and label them and make a note of that page that I wanted to make
I like that i can apply effects like Black & White and Sepia.

I am a fan of the predesigned pages for the times when I need some inspiration. They have some really great layouts.

When I did scrapbook my biggest secret was working with other people. I felt as though I more creative when surrounded by other scrappers

Do you want to know what I like best about their software? They made it for Mac users (we are so often ignored)!
I love it that anything in a jpeg format can be brought into an album. It opens up all kinds of possibilities to me as I have subscribed to a graphic program for years. All the papers, graphics are in jpeg. Plus I can scan in special momentos. And I especially love the price of the software, and albums. Other printing with other companies is twice the price.
30 albums mverno@roadrunner.com
This is so great! You can choose pre-designed albums if you don’t feel like being creative.
Thanks for the chance.
I’m loving that you can create calendars from home!
Thanks,

I like that the software can be used on a Mac and they tell you how to use your photos from iPhoto!
My favorite feature is how you can purchase add-ons which match your taste, instead of only being allowed to choose from the embellishments which came with the original program.

My scrapbooking secret is that I usually pick a color and then work on the theme for the page. I then set it aside for about a half hour and then come back to it and see if I still like it. Usually I will discover something I think needs to be changed or added. I have learned the art of patience with scrapbooking and not feeling rushed to finish it!

I tried to follow them on Twitter, but Twitter is saying that feature is temporarily unavailable because…
“Twitter is stressing out a bit right now, so this feature is temporarily disabled.”
Why does technology not want to work for me over the last few days????
Thank goodness for their pre-made albums. I made one of these books for my wedding from another company and… well, it was a success, but they had limited layouts, and Memory Mixers seem SO much more creative. I’m impressed. AND they have backgrounds other than black, white, and gray stripes. (Yep, that’s what’s in my wedding album. Oh well.)
Also, I commented at “the little things” on their 2/23 post… I think I’m supposed to leave a comment about it?
AND,
My scrapbooking secret: I’ve made two complete scrapbooks in my life, and my only secret is let all your photos pile up until you’re so overwhelmed that you just HAVE to go through them and do something with them. Like make a scrapbook or two. Like me.
Ha, what an awful secret! But that’s what works for me. I can’t do them a page at a time, I get anxious, too excited to stop. I have to do a whole stinkin’ book in a short amount of time and then I’m content to rest for a while.
I like the Embellishments and Backgrounds.
LOVE that it includes pre-designed pages. That would be a HUGE help! Thanks!!
my secret is….take your time. layout your page but don’t adhere anything. look at it for awhile before finalizing it.
Memory Mixer is awesome! I love it, it is so fast and easy and lets me spend more time with my kids which is the most important in life !!!!

I love that they have 100s of preloaded layouts backgrounds and embellishments! I can be creatively challenged sometimes and this would help when inspiration was not striking. This is software that I would love and use regularly thanks for sharing with us and for the chance to win.
i love all the options, i’ve never tried digital scrapbooking but I heard it’s alot of fun. I like that you can still make 12 x 12 pgs.

Wow – the price of printing a book is very reasonable! I wasn’t expecting that.
I also like that I can choose from my own collection of fonts. I have a ton of cute ones for teaching first grade!
Already subscribed via email.

fave scrapbooking secret…….so far I’m a traditional scrapbooker that’s why I’d love to try digital. My secret is just using the things I find around the house as embellishments…….so easy and inexpensive.
Hi,
I like the fact that papers and embellishments can be re-used; and the knowledge that I could do one page and add it to several children’s album sounds really appealing, as well!
I received this software for Christmas and love it, but I had never been to their site yet! I love how it is so easy to layer (and unlayer) elements with this software!

I visited the little things blog and left a comment that you sent me!!!
I like that there are 30 predesigned albums .
I like the fact that you can get your own embellishments
I also like the idea of doing it on the computer, rather than getting out all my scrapbook supplies while the boys are napping, just to put them away a couple of hours later.
My favorite scrapbooking secret is: having gone digital. I find I’m more productive, and have more time because I don’t have a huge glut of supplies that I need to put away. Of course, the ONLY scrapbooking software for me is Memory Mixer!

My favorite scrapbooking secret is to make mini books out of cardstock or chipboard. They are quick projects you can finish in a night. Another good one is to make digital scrapbooks of special events so family members can order and print their own, if they want a copy. Create once and have multiple copies, a win win for everyone.
I think it’s an excellent idea to take scrapbook into the modern time.
PaintedPony17@yahoo.com
I love the quick mix pages.
My scrapbooking secret I have learned over the years is: Don’t worry about being behind. I found that I crop less on the pictures (because the background has usually changed and I want to remember it). It is so fun to look at old pictures and relive the memories when I scrapbook.
I like that you can add your OWN backgrounds.

I love the choices for designs… and the fact it is mac-friendly!
I don’t have the time, or space, to scrapbook… but something like this is so cute! It’s a step above digital albums, but not too complicated like a scrapbook in real life.

And my scrapbooking secret… besides “Get someone to scrapbook for you” …
Well, I only did three scrapbooks… two of which were pre-made, but the one I did by myself was for this 3-week excursion my mom and I had in France. Each place we visited I collected things “For the scrapbook”… things like stones, brochures, coins… and I incorporated them all in the design. I used things differently than one might normally use things.. like I might cut up a brochure and use different pieces of the text to describe the day a la ransom note-ish. It’s a cute way to remember something

do you really like digital scrapping? I tried it once – bought the software etc, then I only used it a couple of times. I think I like the concept – but not the pages. I love nothing more than to cute and paste and stick and stitch and CREATE.[ (I didn’t know you were a scrapper)

I love that there are 30 predesigned albums because I’m totally clueless.
There are 200 backgrounds and 1000 embellishments.
Does this look like interesting software. I like the narration capability for the pages.
