Reader updates

FREAK OUT mode in effect. My blog feed somehow got corrupted or disappeared on me. As a result, my feed has not been updating in over a week and I’ve lost all of my subscribers. I now have a new feed. See that little widget in my left sidebar? It used to say something like 697 subscribers. Now? ZERO. ZERO. I’m crying. I’m devastated. So, please, re-subscribe. I miss your visits and your comments and I’m going through withdrawals. Please?

1 Tomara August 19, 2009 at 4:10 pm: This has something to do with the feed. I stopped receiving my own blog (I subscribe to mine so I can make sure people are getting it).

This is what I did: There's a "show details" button on the top right of the blog's page on Reader. I clicked that and then clicked on the "Feed URL". Mine asked if I wanted to subscribe (or something along those lines). I clicked it (or yes or whatever) and problem was solved.

Not sure why this was changed in the first place. But it seems to work now. I hope that is of some help!

3 confused homemaker August 19, 2009 at 6:41 pm: hope it gets fixed for you, that would SUCK big time to lose. I have had people disappear from my Google reader (I did not unsubscribe or unfollow) and then boom they are back. Hope it's something like that.

I figured it was mine as everything is normally my fault.
I redid subscribe. They'll be back. How could they not?

12 Jen August 19, 2009 at 9:18 pm: Yeah I am glad it is back for me. I now see everything. I am so sorry that this happened. I thought that my feed was broken over the weekend and I was a sobbing mess. I know that they will come back and in bigger numbers.

15 Kat August 19, 2009 at 9:35 pm: I was just checking my reader…and it says you have 8 new posts! So they are all there. I don't think I need to resubscribe. But it had a hiccup. And I got a weeks worth all at once! Ugh!

17 Erin @ Closing Time August 19, 2009 at 9:53 pm: I subscribe through Google, and I had not gotten anything from you in a week. Then today all of your posts from the past week came literally at the same time into my reader! So I didn't have to re-subscribe.

I have seen several other people on Twitter complaining that they have lost hundreds of followers on Feedburner. I haven't had a problem with my feedburner, but evidently there is something seriously wrong! But even though it says you have 0 subscribers, we are still out here. Hopefully the numbers will adjust themselves!

21 Night Owl Mama August 20, 2009 at 2:34 am: Same thing happened to a few others around the blogisphere. I noticed my feed was totally gone too but the next day it was back. Weird I bet blogger had something to do with it. Maybe there is something in their notes to get it to all return.
